An analysis of teachers’ beliefs on teacher talk in an EFL classroom

Abstract

This present research was aimed to find out teacher’s beliefs on teacher talk in EFL classroom. This study used qualitative case study as the method in gaining data. This research was taken online to English teacher in one of Senior High School in Karawang. Collecting data used an interview to answer two research questions which presented. The result found out there are teachers experience as a student of language learning, experience in teaching,  teachers try to teach using self-personality, teaching according to the curriculum guidelines, never used education research or English research to base teaching in EFL classroom, often access the site on high level, teacher confidently demonstrates their ability, give an inspirative story, have good English, provide strategies.
