The degradation of seagrass meadows has prompted various efforts to restore the function and role of seagrass ecosystems in coastal areas. During two decades, various technical restoration development methods have been implemented to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of the techniques used. These methods can be adapted to the needs and conditions of the area to be restored, allowing for more flexibility in their use and implementation in the area. Lemukutan Island is a small island, approximately 45 minutes by motorized wooden boat from the main island. However, despite its relatively short distance, the island's primary economic activity is tourism, resulting in higher prices for some necessities. The PKM Team introduced seagrass species, their role in the ecosystem, and the simple seagrass planting methods utilizing existing resources on the island. The goal was to encourage the island community to participate actively in seagrass ecosystem restoration efforts. Based on the evaluation results, there was a 75% increase in knowledge on the function and role of seagrass ecosystems in the waters; an 85% increase in knowledge on identifying seagrass species in Lemukutan; and the long-term benefits of preserving the seagrass ecosystem, which will have ecological and economic impacts. Evaluation of the bamboo slat, it turned out to be ineffective to carry out, because the slats and stones were still too light, so they could not withstand the incoming waves and currents.
