Konsepsi Siswa dalam Proses Pemodelan Matematis

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji konsepsi siswa dalam proses pemodelan matematis. Desain studi kasus tunggal dan analisis tunggal dengan sampling-teoritis digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Dua siswa (S-17 dan S-23) dipilih dari 35 siswa kelas X pada satu SMAN di Kabupaten Karawang. Kedua siswa diminta untuk menyelesaikan situasi masalah dunia nyata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsepsi siswa terhadap suatu konsep matematika digunakan dalam menyelesaikan masalah akan tetapi konsepsi tersebut belum menuntun siswa kepada solusi yang tepat. Idealnya, dalam proses pemodelan matematis konsepsi yang dilakukan oleh siswa tidak hanya sebatas pemaknaan atau interpretasi konsep atau prosedur matematika, tetapi juga dalam pemodelan matematis konsepsi digunakan dalam interpretasi situasi masalah dunia nyata.
