Perubahan sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman apalagi perkembangan teknologi media yang juga berkembang pesat. Pers di indonesia mengalami perkembangan dari masa pers era orde baru yang saat itu dipimpin oleh Soeharto, pada masa itu kebebasan pers sangat dikekang dan banyak terjadi pembredelan, kemudian masa kepemimpinan Presiden habibie yang membuat banyak perubahan di dunia pers, lalu pada era kepemimpinan Gus Dur dan Megawati kemajuan teknologi komunikasi berkembang pesat, banyak media cetak beralih ke media online, kemudian pers era kepemimpinan Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), pada saat itu SBY menerapkan pers yang bertanggung jawab terhadap masyarakat. Selama 10 tahun kepemimpinan SBY, pers Indonesia telah menikmati kebebasannya dan pada era ini pers begitu kritis dan kontruktif, yang terakhir pers pada era kepemimpinan Presiden Joko Widodo yang sama seperti era kepemimpinan SBY, pers saat ini dijamin oleh pemerintah dengan prinsip kemerdekaan pers dan kebebasan berpendapat.

The press in Indonesia has developed from the press period of the New Order era which was then led by Suharto, at that time press freedom was severely restricted and there were many bans, then the leadership of President Habibie who made many changes in the press world, then in the era of the leadership of Gusdur and Megawati. advances in communication technology developed rapidly, many print media switched to online media, then the press under the leadership of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), at that time SBY implemented a press that was responsible for the community. During the 10 years of SBY's leadership, the Indonesian press has enjoyed its freedom and in this era the press is so critical and constructive, the last is the press in the era of President Joko Widodo's leadership which is the same as the era of SBY's leadership, the current press is guaranteed by the government with the principles of press freedom and freedom of opinion
