Efektivitas Senyawa Antioksidan dalam Saffron (Crocus Sativus L)

Abstract
Crocus sativus L atau dikenal di masyarakat sebagai saffron atau kuma-kuma yang berasal dari marga crocus dengan famili iridaceae. Kandungan utama di dalam saffron yaitu Crocin, Crocetin, Picrococin, dan safranal yang memiliki khasiat sebagai anti kanker, anti inflamasi, dan anti artritis. Kandungan antioksidan yang ada pada saffron diantaranya adalah senyawa fenolik dan karotenoid. Metode yang digunakan dalam pembuatan review artikel ini adalah pengumpulan literatur dari sumber jurnal yang ada yang berkaitan dengan safron (Crocus Sativus L), dimana pencarian literature jurnal yang bersumber dari Google, google scholar, libgen, dan pubmed. Pengujian antioksidan saffron menggunakan sel A549, crocin, dimethylcrocetin, crocetin, dan crocin. Selain iu ada pula apocarotenoid, cocetin, safranal. Eksrak saffron secara in vitro diuji dengan konsentrasi 200-2000 microgram/ml dapat menurunkan viabilitas sel MCF-7 dengan dosis waktu IC50 400 +/- 18,5 mikrog / ml setelah 48 jam.
