LEGALITAS PENGGUNAAN SENJATA NUKLIR DI RUANG ANGKASA

Legality of using nuclear weapons in space has become an increasingly pressing issue in international law. In this context, this research aims to investigate the legal framework governing use of nuclear weapons in space. Research method employed is a multi-faceted legal research approach, with a focus on analyzing legal documents and the applicable legal framework at international level. The approaches used include the statutory approach, the conceptual approach, and the case approach. Data used in this research comes from a literature study that includes scientific articles, books, research reports, legal documents, court decisions, and other relevant legal literature. Research results identify that while there are international agreements prohibiting the placement of nuclear weapons in space, there is still complexity in implementing and enforcing these provisions. This research provides in-depth insights into the legality of the use of nuclear weapons in space and its implications in the context of international law.
